BD FACSMelody

Our FACS instrument is a BD FACSMelody – a compact and powerful sorting flow cytometer that is easy-to-setup and use for rapid droplet-based sorting.

The system is equipped with 3 lasers (blue, red, and violet) and 9 emission color detectors – enabling the detection of a variety of fluorophores (e.g. GFP, YFP, autofluorescent pigments like chlorophyll a and phycoerythrin). The system is also capable of sorting into plates (24,48, 96 well plates) and tubes (1.7 and 2.0 mL microcentrifuge tubes; 4 mL plastic tubes).  Temperature control of samples and sorted cells is also possible using a recirculating bath adaptor.
